Jai Nost

Jai grew up in Marion, Iowa in a very large family (she has seven siblings!). She’s a student at the University of Iowa where she is studying Education Studies and Human Relations along with a Disability Studies Certificate and a Music Minor. As you can imagine, she’s a very busy person! This will be her first summer at Camp Bear Creek, but she grew up going to camp as a kid, so she knows how important it is. “It was always my favorite part of the summer. I loved being able to be away from the world and hang out with my friends that I had there, and those were some of the best friendships that I have had with people. Camp also helped me grow so much in my faith every year, and I learned so much there.”

When she’s not studying, Jai likes to hang out with friends, play and listen to music, and watch movies and TV shows. She’s a member of the Hawkeye Marching Band, which keeps her pretty busy.

Jai can’t wait to be at camp this summer. She says, “I am looking forward to getting to know so many different people and building relationships, and also watching everyone grow in their faith while they are there.” She connects best with God by singing her favorite worship songs, and she’s excited to be part of worship every day while she’s here at camp this summer.

Jai’s favorite Bible verse is John 8:12: “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but have the light of life.'”
