Owen grew up in Peoria, Illinois but moved to Blue Grass, Iowa fourteen years ago. He graduated from high school in May and will be attending Loras College to study Mechanical Engineering. He grew up going to Boy Scout camp and another Christian Camp, but in high school, attended Camp Bear Creek, which he claims is his favorite camp of all!
In his free time, Owen likes to exercise, lift weights, and participate in outdoor activities like camping and fishing. Even though he is allergic to them, he loves cats! One of Owen’s favorite parts of camp is Bible study. He says, “I love to answer questions and explore more about our faith.”
Owen connects best with God through prayer. This year, he’s most looking forward to “the amazing experience of helping kids grow closer to God.”
Owen’s favorite Bible verse is John 15:18: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.”
