Katie spent her childhood in Davenport, Iowa before her family moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Even after moving away, she maintained her connection to Camp Bear Creek, coming back as a camper every summer, and now joining us on staff! She says, “I’ve been coming to camp since I was a kid and have gotten to grow with everyone who returns each summer. My favorite camp experience was Water Adventures because of all the off site activities we did.” Katie plans to attend West Virginia University to study Social Welfare.
Some of Katie’s favorite things include hanging out with her family, traveling and going to concerts. Her favorite artist: Tim Mcgraw! Another favorite of Katie’s is watching scary movies! One of the things Katie enjoys most about camp is the chance to be out in nature, since that’s one of the ways she connects best with God. She also likes spending alone time in prayer.
This summer, Katie says, “I’m most looking forward to spending time with the campers and growing in my faith.”
Katie’s favorite Bible verse is Matthew 5:44: “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
