Camp Bear Creek is committed to our mission: We serve Christ by providing a place of sanctuary and inspiration. This does not change. The world around us, however, does change.
Our current facilities limit our ability to meet the needs and expectations of these times. To attract and welcome more campers and guests, we will update and modernize our facilities. This includes a pool with zero-degree entry, improved housing for staff and volunteers, dedicated space allowing for simultaneous gatherings and year-round programming, and much more.
We know camp is a blessing for campers and guests. It is also a gift to volunteers and staff. In this place relationships are formed that can last a lifetime. Working as a counselor for a single season is a life changing experience for young people, giving them space to grow, practice leadership, and deepen their faith.
As we look to the future ministry of Camp Bear Creek, we know improving our site with modern upgrades and increased accessibility will make camp and retreats possible for more people of all ages. Even as we plan for changes to our facilities, we remain committed to preserving the best part of our heritage: programs and space that shape our Christian faith, care for God’s creation, and provide hospitality for sanctuary and inspiration.
Forward Together Campaign: $3 Million Goal + $1 Million Stretch Goal
In all, the Forward Together Campaign projects are estimated to cost $3 Million. These are foundational improvements that will sustain Camp Bear Creek’s ministry excellence. To achieve this goal, gifts of cash, appreciated securities, and other assets readily converted to cash will be received. Gifts may be given over a three-year period on a schedule chosen by the donor.
These projects are just the beginning of our commitment to invest deeply in the ministry and space of Camp Bear Creek. As donors join us with generous contributions, we will continue to invest in improving our site to welcome people of all ages. To keep the momentum building, we have adopted a stretch goal of an additional $1 Million. This will allow us to manage rising costs, complete additional projects, and do so in a timely manner. This also means we can plan to build our endowment which will provide funds for ministry for years to come.Thank you for your generosity and we can’t wait to celebrate all of this as we move forward together.
