Ali

Ali grew up in Texas but currently lives in Springdale, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, Ali decided to take a gap year. She’s going to school at Impact 360, which is a Christian gap year program. Unlike other colleges, you don’t have majors, but Ali is learning about her faith and apologetics leadership. Woking at Camp Bear Creek will be a great way for her to apply what she is learning!

Some of Ali’s favorite things include writing poetry, running, and exploring nature. In fact, nature is one of her favorite ways to connect with God – just talking to God and worshipping while she enjoys God’s creation. This will be her first time at Camp Bear Creek, but Ali grew up going to summer camp every year. She says, “I always had an amazing experience and came out of camp with a new outlook on life.”

Ali is most looking forward to connecting with campers this summer. She says, “I really enjoy being a safe and trusting person and a friend to kids younger than me.” Ali knows a little bit about what it is like to be away from home. She’s traveled to Africa before on a mission trip, where she says she watched LaLa Land nine times during the flight! You’ll also have to ask her about her Pinterest board, which Ali says includes over a hundred pictures of Mac & Cheese!

Ali’s favorite Bible passage is Philippians 3:13-14: “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” She says, “I like this passage because it tells us to look forward towards spiritual growth rather than being trapped in the guilt of our past mistakes.”
