Kiley is from Grimes, Iowa and is a recent graduate from cosmetology school at PCI Academy in Iowa City. She’s looking forward to starting her career after this summer. Kiley grew up coming to Camp Bear Creek and worked on staff last summer. She says, “I keep coming back because it’s where I feel the most myself. Coming to camp is what I look forward to most about summertime. The activities we do, especially the group games and arts and crafts, are so engaging and are some of my favorite parts of camp.” She can’t wait to be back again in 2026!
Kiley loves sports, even though she admits that she’s not very good at playing them. She just enjoys the competition and the team atmosphere. She also likes to read, and her favorite genres are realistic fiction and mystery. She’s a big movie fan, too, and loves getting her friends together for movie marathons.
Kiley says, “My favorite way to connect with God is through worship at camp. Whether it’s sitting around at the benches by the fire, or Grooveship, I always feel His presence so strongly at Camp Bear Creek. The power of all the kids and counselors together praising Him is incredibly moving.” She can’t wait to be a counselor this summer and build relationships with everyone at camp. “I am most looking forward to spending the summer surrounded by the most amazing kids and spreading Gods love through every activity we do. I love camp because it’s the perfect place to be present and spend time in nature, enjoying all the beautiful gifts God has given us on Earth.”
Kiley’s favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31: “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.”
