Madison is from Fort Madison, Iowa and attends Kirkwood Community College where she is enrolled in the Surgical Technology Program. She likes spending time with friends and family and her two cats, Valen and Tino. She also enjoys swimming, walking, caring for her house plants, reading, and of course, binge-watching her favorite TV shows and movies. Another passion of hers: getting outside in nature! For Madison, embracing the variety, challenges, and adventures in life is part of what makes things fun. She says, “I love to try new things even if it is out of my comfort zone. I tend to live authentically and embrace others to do the same without any shame.”
Even though Madison has never been to camp in a traditional setting, she is so excited to join us here at Camp Bear Creek. She says, “I unfortunately did not get to experience camp as a child but did spend a lot of my childhood outside enjoying the sun. I plan to make this the best summer yet!” She is looking forward to spending time with everyone who makes up the camp community and just having a blast this summer.
Madison connects best with God through prayer or singing. We know that the natural setting of camp is really going to be a favorite for her as well. She shares this message with campers and parents: “I want the future campers this summer to have a safe place for them to be their authentic selves and have the most fun possible. I want them to let loose and be open to trying each activity with an open heart. This is my first time as a camp counselor and we will get through this together! Super Excited to meet every one of you!”
Madison’s favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 16:14: “Do everything in love.”
