Summer is from Bellevue, Iowa and plans to attend Kirkwood to study Elementary Education. She hasn’t had the opportunity to attend summer camp before, but she’s heard so many fun stories from friends and family. This summer, she says, “‘m most looking forward to dedicating my summer to the youth and being apart of a team that helps them get to know God!”
Summer likes to spend time with family, friends, and her cat. You’ll have to ask her what her cat’s name is when you meet her! She also likes to read, cook, bake, run, and watch movies. She claims to make a “mean batch” of cinnamon rolls. We’re hoping she brings some to share with the rest of us! She admits, though, that when it comes to cooking rice, she is hopeless! Summer also likes the Avengers movies and has a tendency to quote them for the rest of the day after she watches them.
Summer says her favorite way to connect with God is just through talking. Not only in dedicated prayers, but just conversationally as she is going about everyday life such as getting ready, driving, cooking, and baking. She says, “No matter what I’m doing, I’m most likely yapping to God.”
Summer’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:5: “God is within her. She will not fall.” She says, “I think of it everyday and through every trial, and it helps me remember that if I have God I have everything I need.”
