Destiny is originally from Chicago but moved to Charles City, Iowa, when she was six years old. She attends Buena Vista University where she is majoring in Criminal Justice and Spanish with minors in Business and Psychology as well as a Coaching Endorsement. She definitely knows how to stay busy! As you might guess from her major, Destiny speaks Spanish as a second language.
In her free time, Destiny likes to play soccer, wrestle, run, and workout. When she’s not playing sports or studying for school, she likes to hangout with friends and spend time in nature. Her favorite way to connect with God is actually through writing. She spends time each night journalling and praying.
Destiny is new to Camp Bear Creek, but she did attend a city camp as a kid. She liked experiencing new things and being around the older kids at the camp. She says, “I am super excited to have the chance to work with your kids and give them new experiences that will last a lifetime. Not only will I be making an impact on their lives but they will be making an impact in mine as well.” She can’t wait for the new experiences and connections that are a part of camp.
Destiny’s couldn’t choose just one favorite Bible verse. She likes Psalm 118:6 which says, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” She also likes Romans 8:31 which says, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
