Elsa Page

Elsa is from Vinton, Iowa and is studying Elementary Education at Iowa State University. This is her second summer here at Camp Bear Creek. Elsa said, “I worked at camp last year and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life. I really enjoyed getting to know so many new people, and in my time at camp, I found myself making lifelong friendships and memories! I also loved participating in all of the camp activities! Some of my favorite activities were arts and crafts, slingshots, and going on nature hikes.”

Elsa is a woman with many hobbies, and she enjoys trying new things, so her hobbies are always changing! Currently, she’s really into art, and she’s been painting envelopes to send letters to her friends. She also enjoys anything outdoors like hiking, running, and camping. For Elsa, getting out in nature is always a treat. She also enjoys baking, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends. Elsa is also a dancer and has been for 16 years. One thing she doesn’t like though: pizza! She’s eating a PB&J whenever we serve pizza in the dining hall.

Camp is such a special part of Elsa’s life. She says, “Something I am really looking forward to about working at Camp Bear Creek this summer is the many opportunities I will have to grow in my faith. I love living in a Christ-centered community and am so excited to have things like group worship and bible studies as a part of my daily life!”

Elsa’s faith is also really important to her. She says, “I connect with God in many ways, because I believe that everything you do can be an act of worship if you’re intentional about it. From working out to studying to spending time with friends and family, everything can be done for God’s glory, bringing me closer to Him. One of my favorite ways to connect with God is through Bible study. My best days happen when I spend a lot of time reading my Bible – it always lifts me up!”

Elsa’s favorite Bible verse is Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” She likes this verse because she says, “I think this verse shows the true fulfillment we can find only in a relationship with Christ. In our belief, we find joy and peace even in the darkest parts of life. Whenever I face a challenge or difficult circumstance, I come back to this verse to be reminded that my hope is in the Lord. No matter what happens, I have something greater than anything else in this world, and that brings me a lot of joy and comfort.”
