Erin is the pastor at United Presbyterian Church in Washington. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee and lived in that area until she was a teenager. She and her family moved to Wilmington, Delaware before she returned to Tennessee to attend Rhodes College. After graduating, Erin spent a year working as a Young Adult Mission Volunteer with the PC(USA) in Bedford, England. She spent the next five years at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia before accepting her first pastorate as an Associate for Mission in Hudson, Iowa. She worked as a solo pastor in Camden, Arkansas, and then returned to Iowa to accept the pastor position at United Presbyterian.

Erin and her husband, Matt, have two children, Emma and Samuel, as well as one dog and five cats! She loves knitting and frequently brings her projects along with her. She says it helps her to keep her fingers moving and her ears listening. She and her family also recently got a small trailer, and she is excited to be able to go camping with her family this summer.

Camp has always been important to Erin. She has been to Camp Bear Creek for retreats with her church and several kids from her congregation attend summer camp. She says, “I love the sense of tradition and stability Camp Bear Creek offers kids, as well as the chance to be outdoors enjoying God’s creation.” Erin chose to be on the board because she has had such great experiences at camps in the past. She wants to help continue to grow the wonderful legacy that Camp Bear Creek enjoys.

Erin’s favorite part of the Bible is the book of James.
