Meredith

Meredith is from Monticello, Iowa and attends Mount Mercy University where she is majoring in nursing. She is a Camp Bear Creek kid, spending five years here as a camper including CIT and several years as a volunteer. This summer, she’s excited to be an official member of the Camp Bear Creek staff! She says, “Camp was always so much fun. I can’t pick any specific memory!”

In her free time, Meredith likes to read, dance, and hang out with her friends. She has some musical talents and can play both the trumpet and the piano! One of her favorite camp activities: arts & crafts! Meredith loves letting her creative side shine. It’s probably no surprise, based on her musical talents, that one of her favorite ways to connect with God is through music. “Whether it is listening, singing, or even playing a hymn or worship song on the trumpet or on the piano, it always makes me feel closer to God.”

This summer, Meredith is looking forward to being at camp in a new role. She loved serving as a volunteer counselor, which makes her think that being on staff is going to be even better! Her message for parents and kids: “No matter what, when you get to camp, it will be one of the best weeks ever!”

Meredith’s favorite Bible passage is Luke 15:4-7 (the parable of the lost sheep): “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” Meredith says, “This passage reminds me that no matter how far I might stray, I will always be found.”
