Paige grew up in Newhall, Iowa, attended Benton Community High School, and went to college at Iowa State. “I am currently a 7th and 8th grade family and consumer sciences and health teacher in Cedar Rapids. I grew up attending Central Presbyterian Church in Newhall and still go to church there with my family. I started going to Camp Bear Creek when I was 8 years old I believe, and continued attending at least one week every year through college.”
Paige and her husband, Evan, live in Newhall with their two kids, Reid and Elsie, both of whom attend camp every summer.
Paige says, “There are so many things I love and remember about Camp… the beautiful nature, hiking the trails, attending morning and evening worship services at Bird and Tree Chapel, Christ Walk we did at the end of every week, outdoor Bible Studies, great conversations around the campfire, arts and crafts, canoeing, rock climbing, creek stomping, caving, the camp songs and before dinner prayers I still remember all the words to, cook-outs, playing fun games like Romans and Christians, Alpha Wolf, Gaga Ball or Capture the Flag, and the list could go on forever. Camp Bear Creek is a very special place that holds many dear memories for me. Camp gave me so much, so I want to give back what I can. I wouldn’t be the Christian or person I am today without the experiences I had at Camp, and I am so thankful for that. I want Camp to be able to continue providing kids with these valuable, faith-filled experiences long into the future, so I do what I can to support it.”
