Tatianna Murray

Tatianna was born in Chicago, Illinois but grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In middle school, she moved to Kansas City, which is where she lives now. Tatianna is a nursing student at Kansas City Kansas Community College and hopes to become a Registered Travel Nurse. She didn’t grow up at Camp Bear Creek, but she did attend summer camp as a kid. Tatianna says, “My camp experiences were all amazing with so much love, fun, and knowledge just from that one week of my summer. I loved spending more time with God and not worrying about the rest of the world around me. Camp is always the highlight of my year!”

In her free time, Tatianna likes to read, spend time with God, color, go on walks, get outside in nature, watch TV shows or movies, clean, go shopping, spend time with family and friends, volunteer, and whatever else she can do to stay busy! She plays volleyball on a college level and also enjoys photography, cooking, journaling, arts & crafts, and traveling. In fact, Tatianna is well-traveled, having visited more than half of the United States plus Thailand, South Korea, and Mexico! Her favorite way to connect with God is through prayer and journaling. She also likes to talk walks or just spend time in quiet listening to what God has to say to her.

Tatianna is one of five kids and she also has a nephew whom she adores. She loves working with kids, the color yellow, Jesus, and coffee. When thinking about this summer, she says, “I’m looking forward to spending as much time with all kids that want to learn more about God and Jesus and just being in another completely different environment, taking another step out of my comfort zone by myself, continuing to grow, and striving with better understanding as well!”

Tatianna’s favorite Bible passage is Matthew 5:14-16: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven.”
